Fashion Adventure 2018 London edition
The creative and adventurous lifestyle of Washington DC based fashion designer, Afua Sam of STUDIO D’MAXSI has led to the growth of the ‘Fashion Adventure’ series which was conceptualized in 2011.
In it’s 6th edition, Fashion Adventure brings together creative people such as; Photographers Models, Makeup Artists, Hair Stylist, designers, Accessory designers together to participate in a fun and friendly photographic experience.
The concept has since brought together creatives from multiple countries including USA, United Kingdom, Japan, France, Ghana, Argentina, Kenya, Ivory Coast, and Russia to name a few.
Fashion Adventure 6 was staged in London and facilitated by a team of professionals to reveal the creative designs of Afua Sam as revealed using multiple colored fabrics.
Afua Sam acknowledged the team in a statement; “There is nothing more rewarding than working, with such an AWESOME, TALENTED, AWARD WINNING individuals who have done well in their various talents from across the world, coming together to do something AMAZING and Fun”. Special thanks to OAH make-up, for putting the LONDON team together.

STATEMENTS
Akua Anim: It was an honor to be part of the fashion adventure in 2018. I had an awesome time with other creatives who worked together to bring magic to life!Here’s to many more journeys of inspiration for great designs.
Aramatou Toure: I am originally from the Ivory Coast but now I am a model living in London. It was great collaborating with Studio D’maxsi and the rest of the team.
Ophilia Appiah-Hamilton: I first became aware of Afua Sam and her fashion brands Dmaxsi and the AConcept in 2016 when I worked as lead makeup artist at the Divas of Colour show. Her fashion designs looked amazing on the runway. I however unfortunately did not get the chance to speak to her as planned after the event. Fast forward 2017 I finally get to meet this amazing designer at the same show. Safe to say I wasn’t letting the opportunity to get to know her pass by. We had a good chat behind the scenes while she styled the models. Was very exciting meeting such a talented lady who also happens to be a fellow Ghanaian. We kept in touch after the show with hope to work again together soon. I was very honored when Afua invited me to be part of her Fashion Adventure on her next London visit this year. Even more exciting was when I saw the mood boards for the looks we were to create for her new designs. The shoot was incredible with an amazing team of Models, Photographer, Makeup Artist and of course Designer. Afua’s designs are to die for and very on trend. All I can say is that I’m very much looking forward to our next adventure!
Ophila is a Ghanaian, BRITISH living in London. Her Mission is not only enhancing confidence in women by painting one face at a time but to also to create comradely in industry she excels in.
MODEL: Akua Ohenewaa Anim is Miss Ghana UK 2018. Her Passion to make an impact in her community gave birth to her project called “I Am The 139’” a youth empowerment initiative which nurtures youngsters’ career and personal development. Her latest venture is the #IAmSankofaProject ; a cause to raise funds to refurbish the Nifa Kindergarten and Primary school in Adukrom, Ghana. Akua also has experience in event hosting, acting, voice over artist and modelling. Her hobbies include; volunteering, especially for matters affecting youths, travelling, events coordination, cooking, fashion and performing in the arts.
