Emmy nominations have been announced and Ayo Edebiri has received an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series for “The Bear.”
It’s not the first time the Nigerian actress, producer and writer has been nominated.
In 2023, she received an Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series for the drama which follows a family and their Chicago based sandwich shop.
While she has only won once, she has accumulated 5 Primetime Emmy nominations across multiple categories.
For her work on “The Bear”, she has also been recognized with nominations for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series in both 2024 and 2025, as well as a historic nod for Outstanding Directing for a Comedy Series for the episode “Napkins.”
One of the youngest Black female actors to receive three acting Emmy nominations in total, Edebiri’s screen credits include “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles,” and “After The Hunt” with Julia Roberts. She also stars in the upcoming series “Prodigies.”

Other Emmy nominees include “Wonder Man” actor Yahya Abdul-Mateen II who received a nomination for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy for the Marvel series.
Riz Ahmed(“Bait”) and Oscar Isaac (“Beef”) also got a nod for Lead Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series.
Sterling K. Brown received a Lead Actor in a Drama Series for “Paradise,” while Zendaya (“Euphoria”) and Chase Infiniti (“The Testaments”) will go head to head for the Lead Actress in a Drama Series trophy.
Mariska Hargitay will host the Emmys, which airs live on NBC and Peacock on Monday, September 14 in Los Angeles.
