Industry titans Queen Latifah, Colman Domingo, Mike Epps, Chase Infiniti, Babyface and many more packed Netflix’s Primetime Emmy after-party for cocktails and victory laps on Monday.
Held at LA’s iconic Chateau Marmont on Sunset Boulevard, it was an exclusive party by the streaming company to celebrate their 16 Emmy wins and in attendance was a drove of stars including Emmy winners Matthew Rhys (“The Beast in Me”), Sally Field (“Remarkably Bright Creatures”) and Allison Janney (“The Diplomat”) who received acting accolades for their respective Netflix shows.
Hosted by Mariska Hargitay, the 78th Primetime Emmy Awards, which took place at the Peacock Theater on Monday in Los Angeles, honored excellence in American television and doled out awards in 19 categories from Outstanding dramas to directing and individual acting accolades.
Presenters included Awkwafina, Jamie Lee Curtis, LL Cool J, Woody Harrelson, Matthew McConaughey, Niecy Nash Betts, and Zendaya.
Actor, author and philanthropist Michael J. Fox was presented with the Bob Hope Humanitarian Award in recognition of his transformative contributions to Parkinson’s disease research and Reba McEntire honored Dolly Parton, who died last month with an emotional In Memoriam segment.
Considered the television equivalent of the Academy Awards, the Emmys dole out awards for excellence in TV programming, and the award depicts a winged woman holding an atom. It is named after “immy,” an old slang term for the image orthicon tube used in early television cameras.
